Split Lip In The Same Spot

Egypt - Descent from Mount Sinai

the foot of Mount Sinai lies the monastery of St. Catherine, built by Emperor Justinian in 527, the place where according to tradition, God would be manifested by a burning bush to Moses "burning" that burned without and which is traditionally consumed in rich bramble (Rubus spp) grown here yet. The monastery is in a particularly suggestive position, and is a place of pilgrimage and sightseeing, just a couple of hours away (easily) from a seaside resort as Sharm El Sheikh and even less from others.
the top of the mountain there is a greek-orthodox chapel, built in 1934 on the ruins of a Church of the sixteenth century, not open to the public. According to tradition, the chapel houses the rock from which God made the Tablets of the Law. Nearby is also the Cave of Moses, where Moses is supposed that he had waited to receive the tablets of the Ten Commandments.
