The German-speaking population of the town was expelled after the end of World War II and Cesky Krumlov was returned to Czechoslovakia.
During the Communist regime of Czechoslovakia, Krumlov fell into a state of abandonment, but the revolution Velvet in 1989 was restored to its former beauty of the city and is now a major holiday destinations in the Czech Republic, which attracts tourists mostly from Germany, Austria and the surrounding area.
