The history of this building began in the eleventh century. and continues uninterruptedly, including extensions damage, destruction and reconstruction, to the last restoration took place between 1978 and 1981. For the first group was added in 1338 (1364) the tower and prior to that (1360) had been built the house Kriz, now marked by lively painting and the inscription Praga caput kingdoms. Severe damage was inflicted to the complex, at the end of World War II. The council chamber has retained its Gothic character of the second half of the fifteenth century. The large meeting room contains paintings by V. Brožík ( Jirì be elected King of Bohemia Podebrady, J. Hus before the Council of Constance ). The top of Town Hall, reached by elevator opens up, from a height of 69m. a beautiful view.
